The Ridge Pinehurst Celebrates Milestone in Development

Local seniors are combining their past with their future as they celebrate the area’s newest luxury senior living community. On Thursday, October 11, more than 150 future and prospective residents gathered to get their first look at The Ridge Pinehurst, while putting their future hopes and dreams in writing and leaving them in a time capsule that will be placed within the walls of the community.

The $150 million development will be the area’s newest senior living community offering various independent living, assisted living, memory support and lifestyle amenities all on one campus.

“We’re proud to bring this incredible new lifestyle option to seniors in the Lakewood area, one that not only celebrates their social energy, but also their intellectual spirit, all in a beautiful and engaging atmosphere,” said Mandy Hampton, chief operating officer of The Ridge Senior Living. “This new community represents our commitment to providing the best care and living options for seniors in Lakewood and beyond.”

The Ridge Pinehurst celebrated the topping-off event with a special $150,000 check presentation to nearby Havern School, which will help to fund the capital campaign the school launched last year to purchase a new building and land. “The Ridge Senior Living is committed to building strong relationships within the greater Denver community. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Havern School, as well as others for years to come,” said Hampton.

Ed., Head of Havern School. “We are looking forward to spending years with our wonderful new neighbors and we are excited about the intergenerational community that we will create in our neighborhood.”

The community is expected to employ more than 200 employees and will help to fill a crucial senior services gap in Lakewood and the surrounding western suburbs. According to a recent report by the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 16 percent of the Jefferson County population has already reached age 65 and older, a number that will continue to climb as the Baby Boomers age. This project will provide more options and amenities, as well as meet the changing desires of the newest generation of seniors.

The Ridge Pinehurst will be located on 18 acres at 7205 West Quincy Avenue in Lakewood near the intersection of West Quincy Avenue and South Pierce Way. When all phases are complete, It will consist of 222 independent living apartment homes, 96 assisted living apartments and 42 memory care apartment homes. The community will offer residents spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains, Marston Lake and downtown Denver, as well as a number of amenities including an on-site health and wellness center, indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, an indoor heated pool and Jacuzzi®, resistance pool, art studio and theater room, hair salon and multiple dining venues.

The Ridge Pinehurst partnered with Denver-based companies Shaw Construction and Lantz-Boggio Architects to execute the project. Construction of the community is expected to be completed in the fall of 2019.
