Thanksgiving 2017: What's Open, Closed in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, CO -- Thanksgiving Day is considered a federal holiday, which means government offices, schools and some businesses will take a break for the holiday.

Lakewood: All City facilities will be closed Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24, 2017 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Here are the openings and closings to be aware of this Thanksgiving holiday:

Police and Fire: Open Thanksgiving Day. For emergency calls requiring immediate response please dial 911. For non-emergency calls where you desire an officer to respond out or contact you by phone, please dial (303) 987-7111.

U.S. Post Office: Closed Thursday, Nov. 23

State Offices: Closed Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24

Lakewood City Offices: Closed Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24

Jefferson County Offices: Closed Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24

Schools and Administrative Offices: Closed Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24

Libraries: All JeffCo Libraries will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24

Trash and Recycling: Waste Management will not collect on Thursday, Nov. 23 and will operate on a one-day delay. Administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24.

Park and Recreation: Bear Creek Lake Park Open Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24. (Visitor’s Center closed Thursday, Nov. 23)

• Green Mountain Recreation Center Closed on Thursday, Nov. 23

Arts Centers: Lakewood Cultural Center: No performances on Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24.

Museum: Lakewood Heritage Center: Closed on Thursday, Nov. 23. Open Friday, Nov. 24 hours: 10 am-4 pm.
