  1. State's school districts jump into action ahead of social media challenge that encouraged students to bring a weapon to school today. Jefferson County School District sent out messages this week indicating that none of the district's schools had been targeted by the Tik Tok meme's threats. (MEAWW)
  2. Thousands of Lakewood Xcel customers were impacted by multiple power outages. As of Thursday, numerous Lakewood customers were still without power from the windstorm on Wednesday. (Patch)
  3. Millions sign petition asking governor to grant clemency for truck driver. A petition calling for Governor Jared Polis to grant clemency to the driver that was sentenced to 110 years in prison for his role in a fatal accident that killed four and injured six others on Interstate 70 in 2019.   • Lakewood's here to help. two drop off locations for tree limb drop-off begins Dec. 18. Following yesterday's windstorm, the City of Lakewood will offer two opportunities for tree limb drop-off to Lakewood residents only. Morse Park, 8180 W. 20th Ave., will offer tree limb drop-off on Saturday, Dec. 18 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lakewood's Greenhouse will also open on Saturday, Dec. 18 and remain open as a drop-off site for tree limbs and Christmas tree recycling from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily through Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022. The greenhouse at 9556 W. Yale Ave. is located between Estes and old Kipling streets. (Lakewood)
