Toys For Tats: Local Tattoo Parlors Help Lakewood's Action Center

Toy drive for the Annual Holiday Gift Shop that gives away 4,000 toys in JeffCo.

From The Action Center: While Santa may be inking his pen to check his list twice, two local tattoo shops are inking their tattoo machines and getting ready to tat generous donors who are filling Santa’s sleigh this holiday season. Alternative Arts Tattoo in Littleton and Fallen Owl Tattoo Studio in Lakewood are gearing up for their annual toy drives, which benefit The Action Center and provide hundreds of toys to children in need in Jefferson County.

For seven years now, Alternative Arts Tattoo has hosted their Tattoos and Toys event where donors who bring in a toy can receive a new pre-designed tattoo for $50 or $100 dollars. All proceeds for the day including tips are also donated to The Action Center. This year’s event on Sunday, December 2 adds an extra level of celebration as this family-oriented business celebrates its 15th anniversary. All tattoos are first come, first serve. Be sure to arrive early to this event!

Over the past eight years, Fallen Owl Tattoo Studio has seen mountains of toys cross their threshold. Starting in early November each year, Fallen Owl provides a $40 tattoo gift certificate to donors who bring in at least three new toys. As their event has grown, Fallen Owl has received gifts from many different states, with each year becoming bigger and better. This year’s event will end on December 9th.

These donations help alleviate some of the financial burden families may experience this time of year. And reassures many parents and guardians at the Holiday Gift Shop that they can provide their children with a magical holiday. We are so grateful for each and every donation.”

The Action Center’s annual Holiday Gift Shop will take place December 10th – 15th at Faith Mountain at 12344 W. Alameda Parkway in Lakewood. The Action Center is still in need of nearly 4,000 gifts for the Holiday Gift Shop. Some of the most needed items include:
