Here are the top stories today in Lakewood:

  1. Two dead bodies found in Lakewood apartment fire. Investigators have confirmed that at least two victims, a woman and a child, have been found in the Tiffany Square Apartments in Lakewood, along with 10 injured in the large apartment near 935 Sheridan Blvd. (FOX31)
  2. You can vote early and in-person during the 2022 election. There's nothing difficult about voting in Colorado. In fact, beginning today, a state-mandated number of drop boxes and voting centers must be available to voters. According to the Secretary of State's office: "voting in Colorado is accessible to all eligible voters, regardless of zip code." (Prime Time)
  3. Colorado's delivery drivers pushing plan to unionize. Gig and self-employed drivers are working to unionize, and at the same time are pushing the State of Colorado to limit Uber, Lyft and other gig-driving company's profits. There's also a proposal to add a $2 per ride surcharge that would go to the driver. (Westword)
  4. Buying booze in Colorado could drastically change if all of these ballot items pass. The fight over the state's liquor laws go back even before prohibition. And small liquor stores have the most to lose. With three proposals on the ballot — propositions 124, 125 and 126 — it would open up those markets to chain liquor stores, national grocery stores. (CPR)
  5. CU's honeybee study finds connections to human realm. Researchers have discovered that cluster bees provide clues into more resilient structures and designs in the human world. (Yahoo!)
