Here are the top five stories in Lakewood today:

  2. Snow may impact your morning commute. Slippery roads this morning may cause delays on roads across Boulder County this morning, as weather officials issued a winter weather advisory for Lakewood beginning today at 5 a.m. (Patch)
  3. Another classic Denver diner may soon be gone. The restaurants in Denver metro keep taking the hits. Next up, Rosemary Cafe is being sold, which had been owned by the late Breakfast King owner. (Denverite)

Doing a "Dry January" or just looking for a flavorful alternative to regular cocktails? Here's a suggestion: try a non-alcoholic drink from our partners at Betera. Created by an award-winning chef from natural botanicals, Betera's drinks come in 3 flavors — Ginger-Orange, Elderflower-Lime and Rhubarb-Hibiscus. We tried Ginger-Orange, and it was excellent — lightly effervescent, floral with a hint of bitterness and the sippability of a cocktail.

Betera is offering readers of the Daily a 15% discount on their first order: use PATCH15 at checkout. Highly recommended — you can try Betera here.

  • The Resume Makeover Masterclass: Online. (4-7 p.m.)
  • The Life and Music of George Michael: Paramount Theater (8 p.m.)
  • This week's high school sports schedule. (Patch)

From my notebook:

  • Discover the Alameda Trail. Discover Alameda is a 5 mile point-to-point bike/walk path with other connecting Discover Alameda segmented loops. This 5 mile path is a moderately to heavily trafficked pathway that extends from Garrison St. to Sheridan Blvd. along Alameda Ave. The main Discover Alameda paved path follows Alameda Ave. and offers art, history, dinning and shopping. Some of the connecting loops offer ponds, bird watching and off pavement terrain. The path is great for for walking, running, and biking. Dogs are also able to use this path but must be kept on a leash. (Alameda Connects)
  • Have you checked out the wizard-themed pub in Lakewood at Belmar? Which house are you? Gryffindor. Hufflepuff. Slytherin. Ravenclaw. While each of us has a different personality and varying abilities, there is one thing that we can all agree on: Harry Potter is quite possibly the most significant literature of our time! The Telephone Pub is quite possibly the most magical bar in the state, thanks to its one-of-a-kind decor and whimsical cocktail menu. (Only In Your State)
