Here are the top stories today in Lakewood:

  1. Veteran's only mode of transportation stolen. Lakewood resident, Lyle Minard, locked his bicycle up to the e-bike rack outside Walmart on Colfax Avenue, and an hour later returned to discover that his bicycle was gone. (FOX31)
  2. Rosemary's Cafe closing its doors after a 23 year run. The restaurant on South Sheridan has been sold, and as of May 15, the keys will be passed to a new owner, but it's unclear what, if anything will come of the restaurant space. (Denverite)
  3. Those happy green summer lawns are likely to fade fast. Did you know that 60 percent of Colorado's summer water use is devoted to outdoor uses? Turns out, that means mostly watering grass. With long-term droughts becoming the new normal in Colorado, the call for change is growing louder. (CBS4)
  4. 911 dispatcher coaches parents over the phone to bring baby back to life. A Boulder County 911 dispatcher has been given an award for saving a life after helping the parents of a newborn baby perform CPR over the phone. (CBS4)
  5. Colorado Springs is dreaming of a rail future. Not unlike Boulder, Colorado Springs is hoping for a train connection, someday. (CPR)
