Here are the top stories in Lakewood today:

  1. No one is expecting a big snow year, not even the scientists. Climate scientists are predicting a warmer and drier winter in Colorado. The continuation of the La Niña conditions, for the third year in a row, will put the state at greater risk of wildfire and reduce the changes of rebounding from the ongoing megadrought. (PHYS)
  2. Colorado Mills is getting a 5280 Burger Bar outpost. The Denver-based chain will add its fourth restaurant in Lakewood. When the restaurant opens, they'll be serving a menu of Colorado-raised beef burgers, salads, appetizers and sides. (What Now Denver)
  3. Peyton Manning at St. Anthony's in Lakewood for health care workers awards. The award ceremony was at St. Anthony Hospital on Friday afternoon where Peyton Manning honored health care workers across the state. (CBS4)
  4. Denver planning another round of pop-ups on 16th Street Mall. This coming spring the Downtown Denver Partnership will choose another round of businesses that will get design, marketing and permitting support to test out their concepts out with the pop-up program. (Westword)
