Metro Denver, Boulder Thursday Weather Forecast: Snow, High Winds

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for Denver's metro area and Boulder until Thursday evening.

A National Weather Service Winter Advisory remains in effect for Denver's metro area and Boulder until 6 p.m. Thursday. Up to eight inches of snow could fall in some regions throughout the day, weather officials said.

Metro Denver and Boulder residents can expect overnight precipitation to create icy roads early Thursday morning. Drivers commuting to essential jobs amid the state's stay-at-home order are urged to slow down and be cautious.

"Plan on slippery road conditions," the alert warns. "The hazardous
conditions could impact the morning or evening commute."

Snow showers are expected throughout the day in metro Denver and Boulder, with wind gusts up to 18 mph. There is a 100 percent chance of snow in both regions.

In a news conference Monday, Gov. Jared Polis called the recent snowy weather a "blessing" for keeping people home amid the state's stay-at-home order.

The following areas were listed in the Winter Weather Advisory: Denver, Boulder, Arvada, Lakewood, Golden, Longmont, Aurora, Brighton, Denver International Airport, Highlands Ranch and Littleton. Visit the National Weather Service website for a full list of impacted regions.
