Woman Found Strangled To Death In Lakewood: Police
A man has been arrested in connection with a woman's death in Lakewood, police said.
LAKEWOOD, CO — Lakewood police have launched a homicide investigation after a woman was found dead Tuesday in a home near Green Mountain, officials said.
Officers were called around 2:45 p.m. to the home in the 2100 block of S. Coors Circle after they received a report of a missing woman.
"When friends of the home’s resident arrived, they reported finding an adult female deceased inside the home," Lakewood police said in a news release. "It appears the victim died of strangulation."

The woman has been identified as 45-year-old Hillary Engel of Lakewood, police said.

A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the woman's death, police said.
He was found in southern Colorado in a hotel in Trinidad, and taken into custody by Trinidad police, officials said.
He's been identified as Karl Aaron Bemis, 51, police said.
Bemish is being held at the Las Animas County jail, where he will stay until he’s transported to Jefferson County jail.
He faces a first-degree murder charge, police said.
