2 Injured In Fire Near McLellen Reservoir In Douglas County
South Metro Fire Rescue battled a construction site fire Monday that engulfed several buildings and left two people injured, officials said.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, CO — Two people were hospitalized after a fire broke out at a construction site Monday afternoon near McLellen Reservoir in Douglas County.
The fire, near Riverscape Court and Channel Drive, fully engulfed four buildings and spread into brush south of the complexes, South Metro Fire Rescue said. The blaze also damaged a fifth building.
Firefighters were able to put out the brush fire while they continued to battle flames in the buildings, which were each three stories high.

The fire was under control by 4:45 p.m., but firefighters continued looking for and extinguishing hotspots.
The extent of the victims' injuries was not known. Fire officials said both people appeared to have suffered burns.

The cause of the blaze was not known. The fire remains under investigation.
