2 Shooting Incidents In Aurora: 1 Inside Mall

Panicked shoppers fled the mall or hid in supply closets as a food court fight turned into gunfire at the Aurora Town Center mall.

AURORA, CO -- Aurora police were investigating two separate shooting incidents Friday afternoon, one of which wounded a woman. In the first incident, a woman was reported shot near East Mississippi Avenue and South Peoria Street. She was identified as a grocery store owner shot had been shot during a robbery. A "Good Samaritan" confronted the robber and shot him, police said. The woman and the alleged robber were taken to hospitals with gun shot wounds.

In a separate incident in downtown Aurora, two groups of persons shot at each other after a fight erupted at the food court inside the mall at the Town Center of Aurora at 14200 E. Alameda Pkwy. According to early police reports, none of the parties were injured, and police took several people into custody.

The mall is still open. It's located southeast of I-225 and East Alameda Avenue in Aurora.

Many shoppers fled the mall as shots rang out, Denver 7 reported.

Paris Annalisa Adair, tweeted that she and "30 other women" hid in a storage closet, the news station reported.
