Series of “Now I Know” videos spotlights warning signs and trends
The impact of domestic violence is something Arapahoe County Human Services addresses every day, and recently the issue has landed especially close to home. In addition to the challenging environment brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic since 2020, this past summer Human Services lost colleague Sarah Terry to a domestic violence incident. To honor Sarah’s life and recognize the annual Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, we have created a series of videos called, “Now I Know.” These short vignettes highlight statistics and describe common traits abusers often share, and they offer resources where people can obtain more information about the issue, as well as help for those who need it.

Please help spread awareness to stop domestic violence by sharing the videos, and by visiting a new webpage with resources to help victims get the help they need. The webpage includes warning signs, safety plans, hotline numbers and more for victims, as well as for those who may have someone close to them who may be experiencing domestic abuse. Check out the first video in the series.
