Reopening our economy and job creation
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I am the only candidate in this race who can deliver on safety & security (my opponent has not uttered a word about the riots and violence in our streets and neighborhoods; he simply ignores it); I will advocate for quality education chosen by parents for their children and a transportation allowance for voucher programs (my opponent would support dictating to parents where their kids attend school and who teaches them); I support free market healthcare and consumer choice (my opponent supports stressing Medicare to cover all as well as mandate a single payer option thus reducing competition, driving up cost and severely limiting quality); I will work to open up our economy safely and as quickly as possible to fuel economic recovery and much needed job creation (my opponent says nothing on the subject and supports continuing the shut down); And most of all...I will do everything I can to ensure that Americans have the right to freedom of speech versus freedom from speech.(The Democrats believe in shouting down and inciting violence when they disagree with an opinion or position on an issue.) My opponent, Ed Perlmutter, a 14 year incumbent, has done precious little for CD7. He follows the party line and does whatever Nancy Pelosi tells him to do. He is very much missing in action so far in this campaign. He refuses to debate the issues. I believe he owes the voters of CD7 an huge explanation as to why he should be allowed to remain in office. What's he got to show for it? Not much!
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I am a proven problem solver and community advocate. I believe in approaching differences with love and empathy rather than violence and rioting.
What steps should state government take to bolster economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic for local businesses?
Very simply, Open Back Up. Do it safely and use masks where necessary along with social distancing!
How will you address the calls for racial justice and police reform?
First of all, America is not a racist country. As a Black man, I would certainly know. Also, dueling projects like the 1619 Project and 1776 Unites are signs of a larger battle over America's future. 1619 cancels the time when America set out the timeless principle of equal rights for all. Something no other nation had ever done. I will support 1776 Unites in our school as part of the telling of the American story and Promise of America. The chaos today in the name of racism is part of the larger coordination movement on the left that rejects the principles of our nation's founding. Examining how to improve our police departments and law enforcement processes is always a wise thing to continually do -- continuous improvement is part of America's social and business character. But, defunding the police will create more crime (is already showing that to be true) and defunding activists are now screaming about why the police aren't doing anything to protect them. This has got to stop and stop now. I will fight defunding.
List other issues that define your campaign platform:
I am a 100% unhyphenated American! I am an American first. I believe in this country and in empowering all to pursue the American Dream of their choosing. That means life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I will go anywhere, anytime and talk with anyone about the issues that are important to them. I also believe that voters should vote their values. I believe many will find that their values and mine do align more than with my opposition.
