Cherry Hills Village Is The Safest City In Colorado: Study
A new study analyzed FBI rankings of crime rates to find out the top 50 safest cities in Colorado.

CHERRY HILLS VILLAGE, CO — It may come as no surprise that Cherry Hills Village has been ranked No. 1 in a list of the safest cities in Colorado. With an average income of $238,750, the city is widely considered the wealthiest in the state.
Security-based review, comparison and news site, Security Baron, analyzed FBI rankings of crime rates to find out what the top 50 safest cities are in Colorado, and what their safety score is.
With a safety score of 90.44, Cherry Hills Village has a rate of 0.3 violent crimes per 1,000 citizens, according to the report. The city also has a citizen-to-officer ratio of 3.29 per 1,000 people and there are 2,156 households in Cherry Hills Village on average.

By comparison, it was found that Durango ranked last on the list, with a safety score of 64.64 and a median income of $60,521. The small city in southwestern Colorado has a rate of 2.34 violent crimes per 1,000 citizens, along with a citizen-to-officer ratio of 2.77 per 1,000 people.
"Theft or violence can occur ‘in the nick of crime’ and no one is immune," Security Baron Director Gabe Turner said in a statement. "Although it is difficult to predict when crime will occur, it is vital to ensure the area you are visiting or moving to is secure and not infamous for any sort of criminal behavior.
