A self-described "fiscal conservative," Beckman has been a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump. She's criticized the Republican Party for favoring establishment GOP candidates.

Beckman has lived in House District 38 for more than three decades, and previously served as an Arapahoe County Commissioner and Littleton City Council member. Her husband, Bruce Beckman, worked as a Littleton police officer and served as Mayor of Littleton.

Over the next few weeks, a committee of party electors will decide who fills her vacancy in House District 38.
