Colorado's Propositions CC, DD: How Arapahoe County Voted

Here's a breakdown of how Arapahoe County voted on the statewide ballot questions.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, CO — Two statewide ballot questions were proposed to voters in Colorado Tuesday, and voters in Arapahoe County were supported one of the measures. Proposition CC, a question asking voters if changes should be made to TABOR, was rejected by Arapahoe County and most Colorado voters. The majority of voters in Denver and Boulder counties supported the measure.

Voters were asked whether they would allow the state to keep revenue that's above the state's spending cap. That revenue would then be spent on education and transportation. Because voters decided against the measure, the state will continue to give any money over its revenue limit back to taxpayers, as required by the Taxpayer's Bill of Rights.

Since Proposition CC was rejected, those amounts will be refunded to taxpayers, equating to a refund of about $26 to $90 per taxpayer each year, according to Ballotopedia.

Proposition DD, a sports betting proposal, narrowly passed in the statewide election, and the majority of Jeffco voters were in favor of the measure.

Voters were asked whether sports betting should be legalized and taxed in Colorado. Now that the measure has passed, the taxes from sports betting will be used to fund water projects and 'water-related obligations,' officials said. The taxes will also fund the regulation of sports betting, a hold harmless fund and gambling addiction services.
