Denver Metro Trash Company Says High Volume Is Causing Delays

Denver metro residents haven't been happy with garbage bags piling up in their garages and yards.

LITTLETON, CO — A Denver metro trash and recycling company is apologizing for skipped pickups after many residents have complained about delays. The company said it's experiencing higher volumes than normal.

Pro Disposal & Recycling, one of the largest trash and recycling pickup companies in Denver's metro area, serves more than 35,000 customers.

"Due to high volume we are on an operational delay; please continue to leave your trash out for pick up," the company said in a customer notice. "In the event that we are unable to get you picked up on your regular service day, we will recover it the following day. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience."

It's unclear how many customers have been affected by the delays; however Littleton residents have been hit particularly hard, according to several reports. Prices of curbside pickup increased in the spring, and residents say they're paying for a service that's not consistent.
