High School Student Struck By Car In Highlands Ranch

A Rock Canyon High School student was cycling when he was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle, according to a report.

HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO — A high school student was struck by a vehicle Monday in Highlands Ranch while he was biking to school, according to a report. The cyclist was seriously injured, authorities said.

The student was struck around 7:15 a.m. near McArthur Ranch Road and Monarch Boulevard, South Metro Fire Rescue said. The boy's hands were trapped under the vehicle's tires, but firefighters were able to free him.

The victim is a student at Rock Canyon High School, according to a report by ABC 7. He sustained serious injuries, but is expected to recover.

The driver of the vehicle is not expected to face charges, according to the report.
