The Knights of Columbus have honored Kendrick Castillo with a posthumous membership. Castillo was shot to death in May during the STEM School Highlands Ranch shooting in Colorado that left eight of his classmates wounded. He charged at one of the armed teens to save his peers, and will be remembered as a hero.

Castillo and his father spent more than 2,500 hours in community service with the Knights of Columbus organization.

Castillo's parents traveled to Minneapolis this week to attend the organization's annual convention, where their son received posthumous membership and the conferral of an award in his name.
