Littleton 6 School District: Board Member Jack Reutzel Receives McGuffey Award

LPS Board of Education Secretary Jack Reutzel was recognized for bringing "committed and passionate service" to his work.

On Tuesday, September 21, 2021, LPS Board of Education Secretary Jack Reutzel was presented with the Colorado Association of School Boards’ (CASB) McGuffey Award, which "honors unique board members who bring committed and passionate service to their board work" (casb.org).

Jack was nominated by his fellow board members, and the nomination read: "Jack Reutzel has served on the Littleton Public Schools Board of Education for the past eight years, the last six-and-a-half of those as Board President. As every district has dealt with Covid issues in the past year, Jack has truly been the rock of the LPS Board. He approaches every issue with a measured, thoughtful response and always at the policy level. We consistently hear from our community about Jack’s ability to navigate all situations, his ability to communicate clearly, and his overall calm during emotional situations. He is term limited this fall and his absence from our Board will be felt greatly. The LPS Board and our community are indebted to his leadership and service. Jack, thank you for your time, commitment, leadership, and dedication to EVERY student, teacher, staff, and administrator. Your time on the board has exemplified LPS’s ‘All means all’ vision."
