Littleton Man Arrested In Connection With Woman's Death
A Littleton man was taken into custody after an argument turned into a death investigation, deputies said.
LONE TREE, CO — A Littleton man was arrested in connection with a death Friday in Lone Tree, the Douglas County Sheriff's office said. An argument broke out between the man and another person at the WestView at Lincoln Station apartments, 10181 Park Meadows Dr, in unincorporated Douglas County.
Justin Chaney, 45, faces a charge of second degree murder, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies were called to the apartment building at 3:54 p.m. Friday and were told that shots were fired and someone may have been hit, officials said. Upon their arrival, the deputies found several people surrounding a woman who was lying on the ground.

Medical personnel arrived and the woman was pronounced dead.

The Douglas County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman as Kelly Kiess, 24. Her official cause and manner of death have not been determined.
Chaney and another man, Andy Bernadeau, were taken in for questioning and later arrested, the sheriff's office said.
Bernadeau faces a charge of first-degree assault. He was released on bail.
Chaney faces a charge of second-degree murder and remains at the Douglas County Detention Facility.
The investigation was ongoing.
