Littleton Presidential Primary 2020: Deadlines, Sample Ballots

LITTLETON, CO — Elections officials in Jefferson, Arapahoe and Douglas counties have issued lists of important deadlines for the upcoming presidential primary. All counties in our state will oversee three elections in 2020.

On March 3 — Super Tuesday — voters will cast their ballots for Democrat and Republican candidates.

Elections officials are encouraging Coloradans to make sure they are registered to vote and that their voter registration is up to date.

On Jan. 18, ballots were mailed to all military and overseas voters. Monday was the last day for voters who are registered with a political party to change that affiliation or register as unaffiliated in order to receive the corresponding ballot. Now, anyone registered as a Democrat will receive a Democrat ballot and registered Republicans will receive a Republican ballot. Voters who are registered as unaffiliated will receive both ballots, but can only return one.

Important upcoming dates in Jefferson, Arapahoe and Douglas counties:

Feb. 10: Elections officials will begin mailing ballots. Ballots can take up to eight days to arrive. The 24-hour drop boxes also open Feb. 10 in all three counties — drop box locations:

• Jefferson County
• Arapahoe County
• Douglas County

Feb. 24: Voter Centers open in all three counties — find locations:

• Jefferson County
• Arapahoe County
• Douglas County

*This is also the last day to register to vote in time to receive a mail ballot; and recommended last day to return a ballot by mail.

Mar. 3: Election Day. All ballots must be received by 7 p.m. (postmarks do not count).

Elections officials are also reminding voters that 17-year-olds who will turn 18 years old by the General Election Nov. 3, 2020, can now vote in the primaries.
