Man Dies, Police Officer Wounded In Englewood Shootout
A man was killed and a police officer was wounded near an RTD station Tuesday night, police said.
ENGLEWOOD, CO — A police officer was wounded and a 31-year-old man was killed in a shootout Tuesday night in Englewood, police said. The officer is expected to recover.
Englewood police officers were called to the RTD station near West Hampden Avenue and South Santa Fe Drive around 9 p.m. Upon their arrival, the officers saw the man on the south side of the station, pointing a gun at someone, according to the Englewood Police Department.
When the man saw the officers, he fired his gun and the officers fired back, police said. The man was shot and killed.

A police officer was wounded and taken to the hospital, where she remained Wednesday morning, according to a report by Fox 31. Her bullet-proof vest may have saved her life.
