Man Dies After Shooting Near Bear Creek Park In Lakewood
A man was shot in the 3600 block of South Sheridan Boulevard, deputies said.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — A man has died after a shooting near Bear Creek Park in Lakewood, officials said.
Officers were called to the 3600 block of South Sheridan Boulevard around 9:30 p.m. Monday after a report of shots fired in the area. They found a 51-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said. He had been shot in his home.
The man was taken to a Denver hospital, where he died, officials said.

The shooting is being investigated as a homicide, the sheriff's office said.
The victim has been identified as Joe Trujillo, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

"No suspects are in custody, but individuals of interest have been identified and the shooting is not believed to be random," the sheriff's office stated in a news release.
