South Metro Fire Rescue Called To 2 House Fires In 2 Hours

After putting out a fire in a Centennial home, South Metro firefighters were called to a house fire in Littleton.

LITTLETON, CO — South Metro firefighters were busy Wednesday night fighting two house fires in Centennial and Littleton. No injuries were reported in either fire.

Fire crews were called to a home at 7044 E. Appleton Circle in Centennial just after 8 p.m. A fire was found on the second floor of a home and it was quickly extinguished, officials said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Then at 9:43 p.m., firefighters were called the 2100 block of West Davies Avenue in Littleton. The 911 caller reported a power outage and possible electrical fire in the home, fire officials said.

Fire crews saw light smoke filling the street and found flames spreading up a wall of the home into the attic, officials said.

The flames were extinguished and an "extensive overhaul was needed to open up the surrounding area to check for hot spots," South Metro Fire Rescue said.

The cause of the Littleton house fire was also under investigation.
