Surprise Littleton Baby: Mom Didn't Know She was Pregnant

Baby Cayden, born in September, goes home. Mother of one didn't realize extreme abdominal cramps meant she was in labor at 5 months.

LITTLETON, CO -- A woman who delivered a surprise baby in September, when she didn't even know she was five months pregnant, will be home for Christmas with her newborn son, Cayden. Amy Littlefield, mother of a year-old baby girl, had no idea what was causing severe abdominal pain that rushed her to the Swedish Southwest emergency room in Littleton Sept. 14.

She gave birth to a tiny baby boy, only one-pound-ten-ounces, who has been cared for at the neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Health One in Denver for the past three months.

“Things change minute by minute, hour by hour. They can be doing fantastic one day and the next day not so much,” Littlefield told KDVR TV. Baby Cayden now weighs 5 lbs and is going home in time for his sister's first birthday.
