2 Dogs Die In Littleton Fire: Family Members Escape
Two beloved family pugs were lost, but family members escaped an early morning fire near Littleton that left a house totally destroyed.

LITTLETON, CO -- A Jefferson County home near Littleton was completely destroyed by fire early Monday morning, and two pet dogs died in the flames, but all family members were able to escape, West Metro Fire Rescue reported Monday. The home, in the 5900 block of South Quail Way in unincorporated Jefferson Co., was "completely involved" when firefighters arrived around 3:45 a.m., West Metro reported. Flames were shooting 20 feet over the roof, witnesses told TV reporters. Firefighters were able to spare neighboring homes from catching fire.
Tony Wilkins, Assistant Chief with West Metro Fire Rescue, said 31 firefighters were on the scene.
“The crews did a heck of a job getting those lines pulled quickly, getting water flowing, getting the fire extinguished,” Wilkins told Channel 4.
The Hughes family, Marie, Keith and their two sons rushed out of the home and had no time to grab anything, or rescue their two pugs, according to a GoFundMe page.
