Video Shows Hot Air Balloon Making Emergency Landing In Littleton

LITTLETON, CO — A hot air balloon drifted very close to buildings, homes and playgrounds in Littleton Monday. A witness said the balloon clipped trees near the Lilley Gulch Soccer Fields. At least two videos of the balloon were posted online.

One of the videos shows the hot air balloon leaving a massive, ominous shadow over the back yard of a home.

A resident who posted the soccer fields video said the balloon "appeared to be in distress."

The balloon was also seen floating near Kipling and Bowles, where it appeared to land in an empty parking lot, witnesses said. No injuries were reported.

A hot air balloon carrying 11 passengers had a hard landing in Hartsel, Colorado last year. Two women were injured, one of whom later died, police said.
