Woman Almost Beaten To Death By Arapahoe Co. Purse Snatcher
The Arapahoe Co. Sheriff released a composite sketch of a man they say severely injured a woman and stole her purse.
ARAPAHOE COUNTY -- The Arapahoe Co. Sheriff's office is hoping someone will recognize the composite sketch of a man who allegedly severely beat and kicked a woman before stealing her purse last fall. The victim was walking from her car to her apartment Nov. 4 about 8 p.m. when she was attacked by a man in his 20s, police said, leaving her with a large scar across her forehead and a plate in her face from a fractured skull.
The sheriff's office did not specify where in the county the attack took place.
"It's the first time in my life I honestly believed I was going to die," Chris, 38, who used only her first name, told CBS4. "Before I could even open my mouth to say anything he started throwing punches." She could feel the blood running down her face and began to collapse, sliding down the door, she said. "When I got low enough he started kicking me as well," she told the TV station. She came forward to bring her attacker to justice, she said. "I'm not going to hide; I'm not doing it. I have my life and I'm going on with it."
