1 Puppy Dead, 13 Rescued After CT Rollover Crash: Reports
The van crashed into a utility pole and rolled over with more than a dozen puppies of several different breeds in a crate.

WOODSTOCK, CT — One puppy is dead and thirteen others were rescued in Connecticut Thursday morning after a rollover crash, according to multiple reports and agencies including the Muddy Brook Fire Department.
The van crashed around 6 a.m. into a utility pole in Woodstock before rolling over with more than a dozen puppies of several different breeds crated in the back, ABC News reported.

Following the crash, Senexet Road was closed between Laurel and Bull Hill, according to Woodstock Volunteer Fire Association Station 76.

"Not all patients are human," the Muddy Brook Fire Department said. "While thankfully no people were hurt, first responders rescued and provided care for 14 puppies, after power to the downed lines were cut by Eversource CT."

One of the puppies had to be euthanized and several others were taken to an emergency vet center for treatment, according to the fire department.

Most of the puppies, who were being taken from a West Virginia animal rescue to new homes in the region, seemed to be okay, ABC reported, citing the local fire chief.
The puppies who did not need emergency treatment were brought to a local animal shelter, according to WTNH.
