2 Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide In Plainfield: Police
A man called 911 and informed the dispatcher of his plans to kill his ailing wife, then himself, according to police.
PLAINFIELD, CT — A local couple is dead following an apparent murder-suicide shooting on Monday, according to police.
On Feb. 23 at 7 p.m., a man called 911, gave his name, and reported his wife was suffering from terminal cancer, and he planned to shoot her and then himself, police said.
The caller informed dispatch he would leave the doors to the residence open for responding officers.

Police responded to the home on Kate Downing Road where they found two people inside with apparent gunshot wounds.
The husband and wife, both aged 62, were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. A firearm was recovered within the home.

Both were taken to the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsies.
The investigation is ongoing.
