2 Severe Thunderstorm Chances On July 4 In CT: Timeline, New Details Released
There is a good chance that you'll be hearing more than fireworks on July 4 across Connecticut. Here are the latest details.
Right around the time we are accustomed to hearing fireworks on July 4, we may also be hearing thunderstorms too, according to the latest forecast updates.
"Isolated storms are expected in the afternoon, so keep an eye out if you’ll be at any events celebrating Independence Day," said WFSB 3 TV meterologists. "Some are expected to be strong to severe, but any storm that develops will bring lightning. New data suggests a greater coverage of rain and storms arriving after 9pm from west to east, so be mindful of this, because they could pack a punch!"
Saturday will still be hot but slightly less hot than the past few days. Temperatures will reach into the mid-90s inland and low 90s at the coast.

"There is a higher risk for scattered storms Monday with a warm front in the region. It will struggle to push through, keeping the risk for showers around through most of the day. While still muggy, we’re forecasting highs in the 70s, about a 20 degree drop from Saturday! Showers will linger into Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday will be brighter and seasonable, a great stretch for heading to the beach! Friday will be muggier and storms will be possible," added WFSB 3 TV forecasters.
