3 Hospitalized Due To Carbon Monoxide Poisoning At CT Home: Reports
The carbon monoxide poisoning occurred due to a mistake using an oven, according to reports.
WILLIMANTIC, CT — Three people were hospitalized for carbon monoxide poisoning following a mistake baking bread, according to WTNH News-8.
Firefighters responded to a call reporting smoke at a Gifford Avenue home in Willimantic at 11:35 a.m. Sunday. They determined there wasn't any smoke but found two unconscious people in a home.
Investigators instead determined it was a carbon monoxide incident, FOX 61 reported. There were no working carbon monoxide detectors in the home.

Three people out of the home's six occupants reported symptoms. Two of the three were brought to a hyperbaric chamber in New York City for treatment of carbon monoxide poisoning, according to FOX 61.
Firefighters found carbon monoxide readings as high as 250 ppm in the home. The family had used a commercial oven attached to a 20-lb. propane cylinder for baking, according to WTNH News-8.

The oven was typically used outside, so it had no vent. They had brought the oven inside due to the cold.
