WATERTOWN, CT — Police have identified a child who died following a farming accident in Watertown over the weekend, according to NBC CT. Emergency crews arrived at Kuslis Farm on Barnes Road on Saturday after receiving a call at 3:20 p.m. reporting a child trapped under a tractor.
Four-year-old Ellie Kuslis had become entangled in a slice seeder attached to the rear of a farm tractor that her father was operating. The tractor wasn't moving at the time of the incident, but the seeder remained engaged, according to NBC CT.
The child was pronounced dead at the scene. The state Chief Medical Examiner's Office determined that the death was accidental.

Police Chief Josh Bernegger told the Republican-American newspaper that all first responders who responded to the tragic call were given the remainder of the weekend off, and they were involved in a Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Monday. He said "This is as difficult a call as it gets," as reported by the Rep-Am.
