Sunny and hot weather will dominate the end of the work week, but rain and potential thunderstorms return this weekend, according to meteorologists.
Both today and Friday will be sunny and hot, with highs reaching into the low 90s inland and upper 80s near the shore, according to the National Weather Service.
WFSB says high pressure will dominate, and Connecticut can “expect ample sunshine” today.
“Fortunately, humidity levels remain low,” the station reports.

WFSB reports Saturday will be the best day of the weekend for outdoor activities.
“Saturday is the pick of the 2 days as it will be dry through most of the daylight hours,” WFSB said.
According to WFSB, cloud cover will increase on Saturday due to an approaching cold front, with isolated showers or a storm late Saturday.
“Sunday, while not a washout, showers are likely,” WFSB reports.
For Sunday, the National Weather Service says showers are likely, with thunderstorms possible after 2 p.m.
Sunday will feature scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, and cooler temperatures, with highs reaching around 80 degrees, according to WFSB.
