Former CT News Anchor Lands Impressive Promotion

She was a fixture on Connecticut's air waves for years before moving to media relations role in 2024.

Former WTNH-TV anchor Amanda Raus, who left the station in 2024 for a communications job at Yale New Haven Health, has been promoted at the hospital to Director of Media Relations, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Raus joined Yale New Haven Health in May 2024 as Media Relations Coordinator, and now oversees the whole department.

In addition to her director duties, Raus also hosts the hospital's "Around the System" video series, where she discusses various aspects and achievements of the award-winning chain of medical centers.

Before joining Yale New Haven Health, Raus was a fixture on Connecticut's air waves for years.

Prior to WTNH, Raus was at Fox61 for six years, where, among other roles, she was part of the 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts, and before that, she was with NBC Connecticut for just over eight years.

She even logged almost a year at News 12 Connecticut in 2004 to 2005.

Raus grew up in Monroe and graduated from Masuk High School. She then obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, and an MBA from Hamden-based Quinnipiac University.

She is married to Todd Piro, an anchor at Fox News, and the couple have two children.
