Popular Veteran Television News Reporter Joins CT Station

Lauren Fabrizi, the veteran Connecticut television news reporter, recently joined NBC Connecticut as a member of its morning news team.

Fabrizi, who was laid off from News 12 Connecticut in 2023 after eight years with the station, had most recently been a public affairs specialist with AAA in Hamden.

NBC Connecticut anchor Taylor Regan this week welcomed Fabrizi into the fold.

"She's a CT native and has covered the biggest stories in our state for nearly a decade," Regan wrote on Facebook. "We're so lucky to have her!"

Last month, Fabrizi hinted at a career change in a goodbye message that she was leaving AAA after two years.

"Just wanted to let you know that tomorrow will be my last day at AAA Northeast as I'll be leaving for a new endeavor," she wrote.

Fabrizi is an award-winning journalist, having been recognized multiple times by the Connecticut Society of Professional Journalists.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University with a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Before News 12, Fabrizi was a reporter at KLKN-TV in Lincoln, Nebraska, from 2013 to 2015.

Fans of the NBC Connecticut morning newscast were pleased by the announcement.

"Welcome to the best news team ever," one fan wrote. "The best of luck to you."

Added another, "Hi! Welcome to the morning team. They are great and I think you'll really enjoy working with them."
