Amazon said seasonal employees will earn an average of $20 per hour, and many positions offer opportunities to move into full-time jobs.

The company also announced that, beginning Jan. 1, 2027, seasonal employees who work at least 30 hours per week will become eligible for health care coverage offered to full-time employees. Plans will start at $5 per week, according to Amazon.

"We're glad to be welcoming thousands of new teammates this season — there's always a special energy across our Connecticut operations around the holidays," said Jonathan Greeley, Amazon's principal for economic development in New England.

Amazon said it has invested more than $12 billion in Connecticut since 2010 and contributed more than $10 billion to the state's gross domestic product. The company currently supports more than 15,000 full- and part-time employees across the state.

The hiring announcement covers positions across Amazon's U.S. core operations network.
