Another CT Television News Reporter Switches Stations

WTNH-TV's loss is NBC Connecticut's gain, as Amber Diaz reportedly leaves New Haven for Hartford.

CONNECTICUT — Amber Diaz, formerly at WTNH-TV where she was a reporter, recently left the New Haven-based station to join NBC Connecticut in Hartford, The Laurel reported.

Beginning Monday, Diaz will co-anchor the 5:30 p.m. newscast with Kevin Nathan, Diaz wrote on social media.

"Very excited to join the @nbcconnecticut family," she wrote.

Before News 8, Diaz was a reporter at WFOR in Miami, Florida; KPTV in Portland, Oregon; and back east at News 12 Bronx.

Diaz is the second WTNH alum who recently left the station for another television home in Connecticut.

Also on Monday, Stephanie Simoni announced she was joining WFSB-TV, after she left News 8 last week.
