'Barks & Blooms' Event In Killingly Will Feature Pets, Vendors In May
The event will feature contests, demos, vendors and adoptable dogs.

KILLINGLY, CT — If you love animals, mark your calendars: the Killingly Business Association is planning a spring pet-themed festival.
The event, “Barks & Blooms," will be at Killingly Intermediate School, at 1599 Upper Maple St., on Sunday, May 17, from noon to 3 p.m., with a pre-event “Pack Walk” starting at 11:30 a.m.
Admission is free, and all leashed, well-behaved dogs and pets are welcome. Gift bags will be available for the first 50 attendees.

The event will include a pet photo contest, a pet tricks competition, a police K-9 bite training demonstration, animal readings and reiki, a dog training demonstration, paw print memento making, and a pet-made art station.
Live music, food trucks, a dog adoption parade, and adoptable dogs will be at the event. It will also feature vendors featuring an array of pet and flower-related products. According to organizers, the event aims to highlight Killingly’s concentration of pet-themed businesses.

“Killingly has something no other community around us can claim,” said KBA President Jennifer Reynolds. “Our ‘Pawsitively Killingly’ events are a way for us to celebrate that identity, bring people together, and shine a spotlight on the incredible local businesses that make our town so special.”
Money raised from the event will help support Doggoholic Rescue’s work as well as future Pawsitively Killingly initiatives.
