Beloved CT Television News Anchor Sets Return Date After Hip Surgery
The Fox61 morning news anchor has been off the air since March, after having his entire right hip replaced.
CONNECTICUT — Fox61 morning news anchor Tim Lammers, who has been off-the-air for weeks as he recovers from a hip replacement, says he is planning to be back behind the anchor desk on Monday.
Lammers, a veteran of the station for more than 20 years, had his right hip totally replaced in March.
"I know I told some of you that I was planning on coming back to the anchor desk right around now, but my hip needed a few more days so, for now, I’m planning on being back at the anchor desk next Monday, May 6," Lammers wrote on Facebook, accompanied by a smiling photo. "I’ll be rested and ready and thankful to all of you who spend a part of your busy mornings with me!"

Over the past several weeks, Lammers has received hundreds of comments of support and well-wishes from fans, many of whom recounted their own experiences with hip replacements.
Lammers surgery was the result of avascular necrosis, called AVN, a rare degenerative bone disease from which he has dealt with for years. He chronicled his dealings with the ailment in an Emmy-nominated report a few years back.
