Bicyclist Hurt In Collision With Vehicle In Putnam: PD

PUTNAM, CT — A juvenile riding a bike suffered minor injuries in a collision with a vehicle Tuesday evening, according to police.

The accident happened around 6:09 p.m. in the area of Pomfret Street and Kennedy Drive, according to police.

A Mapleville, Rhode Island, resident was operating a Kia Sorento westbound on Pomfret Street.

As the driver turned right to go northbound on Canal Street, the juvenile riding a bicycle westbound on the sidewalk along Pomfret Street collided with the side of the Kia, according to police.

While the juvenile sustained minor injuries, the youth did not need to be transported for medical care, police said.
