Big Promotion For Connecticut TV News Personality
She has spent more than a decade covering news in Connecticut, New York and Boston.
Kathryn Hauser, a reporter and anchor at WTNH-TV since 2022, has been promoted to co-anchor of the station's 5 p.m. newscast, for which she will be teaming up with veteran anchor Ann Nyberg, Hauser announced this week.
"Some exciting news to share… Thrilled, ecstatic, honored to say I have officially been named co-anchor of the pm news on WTNH News 8… alongside the legendary Ann Nyberg!" Hauser wrote on Facebook. "I am lucky to work with an incredibly talented group of people, every day. To those who have supported me and cheered me on, THANK YOU."
Hauser is an Emmy Award winner, and in addition to News 8, she has worked at WBZ-TV in Boston and Fox23 in Albany, New York, according to her bio.

Nyberg, who has had a legendary career covering Connecticut, offered congratulations on Hauser's promotion.
"So happy to have you onboard, Kathryn… you are a journalist’s journalist," Nyberg wrote. "You care deeply about the story, it is a joy to be beside you."

Over the years, Hauser has covered everything from the "Miracle on the Hudson" plane crash, to the Boston Marathon bombing, to the devastation after Hurricane Ian.
Fans, colleagues and former co-workers offered congratulations and praise for the move.
"So well deserved, Kathryn!" wrote former co-worker Isabella Gentile. "You and Ann make an amazing team. I feel so fortunate that I had the chance to work with you both!"
"YESSS! Classy, talented and beautiful inside and out," a fan wrote. "You are an inspiration to me. Huge congratulations to you."
Another added, "Congratulations Kathryn! You deserve the best! A great team!"
