Body Of Missing Man Found In CT River: Police

A man, who was reported missing Sunday afternoon, was found in the Moosup River on Sunday night, according to reports.

PLAINFIELD, CT — A man reported missing Sunday was later found in a river in Plainfield, WFSB 3-TV reported.

Kyle Sousa, 32, of Central Village, was removed from the Moosup River shortly before 8:20 p.m., according to NBC CT.

He had been reported missing earlier that day at 4:50 p.m. after last being seen at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police said they determined through an investigation that Sousa was in the are of Main Street in the Central Village section of Plainfield, WFSB 3-TV reported.

They later found and unresponsive man in the river near Water Street, who was identified as Sousa.

Water Street was closed due to the investigation but has since reopened.

Police said it was an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public.

Sousa's body was taken to the Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Farmington for an autopsy Monday, NBC CT reported.
