THOMPSON, CT — A Connecticut woman was struck and killed in a crash in Massachusetts on Saturday night, according to state police.

Police responded to a report of a serious pedestrian accident on Route 146 North in the area of Exit 13 in Sutton at 7 p.m.

A woman had been struck while crossing the road, police said. Emergency responders arrived and attempted life-saving measures. The woman was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Nicole Young, 34, of Thompson, Connecticut, was determined to be deceased after arriving at the hospital, according to state police. The driver and passenger in the vehicle were not injured.

The crash is under investigation.

The left and center lanes of Route 146 were closed for recovery and cleanup.
