CT Coronavirus Hospitalizations On Rise Again

The state saw a net increase of 9 hospital patients Wednesday and the state's positive test rate ticked back to familar territory.

CONNECTICUT — Connecticut saw another increase in coronavirus hospitalizations Wednesday after one day of no increases. Hospitalizations went up by nine patients to a total of 138. Connecticut last saw 138 hospitalizations June 22.

Hospitalizations increased the most in Hartford County, with six additional patients, bringing the county total up to 44. New London County saw an increase of one patient up to a net of 28 after several recent sharp rises.

The state reported 123 positive coronavirus tests out of 7,617 results for a positive test rate of 1.6 percent. That’s about par for the course recently except for Tuesday, when the rate was 0.7 percent. Tuesday’s rate was initially reported to be around 1.5 percent, but a data input error led to the state reporting the wrong rate, Gov. Ned Lamont tweeted Wednesday.
