CT Coronavirus Positivity Rate Over 6 Percent, Highest Since June
More than two-thirds of the Connecticut's municipalities have been coded as either red or orange zones.
CONNECTICUT — The coronavirus positivity rate in the state popped up to 6.1 percent on Wednesday, the highest since June 1. More than two-thirds of the state's municipalities have been coded as either red or orange zones, enabling them to revert to phase 2 restrictions if their leaders think it will mitigate the spread of the virus.
The state Department of Public Health reported 1,319 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the past 24-hour reporting period. There were another five coronavirus-associated deaths, bringing the pandemic death toll in the state to 4,609. Twelve additional hospitalizations were reported.
An additional 21,739 coronavirus tests were reported Wednesday. A total of 2,254,342 tests have been performed in the state.
