CT Family Seeking Justice After Mother's Headstone Vandalized, Stolen

BROOKLYN, CT — Police are seeking justice for a Brooklyn man and his family as they have fallen victim to a series of crimes, the most recent being the destruction of their mother's gravestone.

Mark Benard and his family are offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to an arrest for the suspect or suspects who first damaged the gravestone on multiple occasions before it was stolen overnight between June 26-June 27.

"The granite stone is unaccounted for, and the family would like the gravestone back," Connecticut State Police said Wednesday.

The gravestone is deep red and reads "Benard" in big letters at the top, police said. It has the names Gloria and Michael on it.
