CT Man Arrested After He Was Spotted In Several People's Yards: Police

PUTNAM, CT — A 29-year-old Killingly man was arrested Thursday night after being spotted running through several people's yards in Putnam during the day and evening, according to police.

Police said they were responding to an unrelated call just before 11:30 p.m. when they came across Devin O'Neil, who had an active arrest warrant, walking around Five Mile River Road.

Earlier in the day, police had received calls from residents of Chase Road, Five Mile River Road, and North Road from concerned citizens saying he had been on their property and were concerned for their safety.

After police spotted him at night, O' Neil fled on foot into the woods, resulting in the dispatch of several K-9 units, drones, and the Connecticut State Police Air Wing in an attempt to find him.

Finally, police received a call from a resident on North Road stating that O'Neil was walking down a driveway.

He was found hiding in some tall grass in the woods shortly after and "taken into custody without incident," according to police.

He was arrested and charged with interfering with police and second-degree breach of peace and his bond was set at $20,000.
